The “Heal Komfo Anokye” project, a significant health initiative supported by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has received a $11,000 donation from UnityLink Financial Services.
On Wednesday, May 7, during the celebration of the Awukudae festival, the donation was formally handed at the Manhyia Palace.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II received the cash from UnityLink Group CEO Harry Ouedraogo, who also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to making a significant contribution to the modernisation and renovation of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
“Working with the Asanteman chiefs and people, we are honoured to support this admirable cause,” Mr. Ouedraogo stated. In order to better support the Heal Komfo Anokye program, UnityLink is committing to both short-term assistance and long-term cooperation with the palace.
In order to turn the area’s top medical institution into a top-tier health centre, he continued, the company is urging diaspora members to support the initiative.
Additionally, Mr. Ouedraogo thanked the Asantehene for being given an audience during the event and sent belated birthday greetings. In order to further explore ways of strengthening their support, he said UnityLink is looking forward to speaking with the King in private.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II started the “Heal Komfo Anokye” initiative, which aims to modernize and restore the approximately 70-year-old teaching hospital in order to offer better medical care to millions of people in Ghana and West Africa. The anticipated total cost of the project is $10 million.
