Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, has assured laid-off employees that they will be given preference for positions in the incoming NPP government.
He made the pledge in front of party members and residents on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the NPP’s Thank You Tour in Takoradi.
In an emotional speech, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the struggles that people who have recently lost their employment confront.
He said the NPP is committed to assisting people restore their means of subsistence and acknowledged the sacrifices made by individuals. He continued, “I understand what it’s like to lose your job, your daily bread.”
Dr. Bawumia, underlined that a future NPP administration would implement robust job creation initiatives targeted at those most affected by the current economic challenges.
With enthusiastic applause from the audience, Dr. Bawumia declared, “I promise you that you will be given preference for jobs in the next NPP administration.” In preparation for the elections in December, the party intends to mobilise its followers and reaffirm its commitment to Ghanaians through the Thank You Tour.
Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed the NPP’s pledge to boost the economy, empower businesses, and provide long-term employment opportunities for the nation’s young people and displaced workers.
