Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV, the Chief for Amakye Bare, has emphasized the growth of Asanteman and the economic empowerment of young as important areas that have stoked his desire to run in the forthcoming Council of State Elections, which are set for February 11, 2024.
The latter reminds me of a document that President John Dramani Mahama had President Otumfuo Osei Tutu II copy on the Asantehene’s development plan for the Ashanti region.
When he is promoted to the council, Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV has stated that in addition to giving the president advice on how to carry out his responsibilities, he will also provide him with ideas that will allow him to carry out the Asantehene’s blueprint and steer the nation towards development and sustainability.
“I will not only be part of the bureaucratic set up governance but I will work assiduously for a development that is in alignment with Ashanti region’s development plan and Ghana by extension,” he told Oseikrom Dawuro Newspaper.
After successfully completing the ballot procedure, Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV filed his nomination at the Electoral Commission’s Ashanti regional office on Thursday, ranking sixth on the list.
Since he firmly believes that the youth of any region or country determine its future, he will work tirelessly to ensure that Asanteman’s youth have the resources they require to acquire the knowledge and abilities necessary to thrive in the workforce.
Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV firmly believes that progress towards sustainable, inclusive development will be fuelled by ensuring that the potential of every young person in Asanteman and Ghana is unleashed through access to decent jobs. According to his observations, many young people in the area are falling behind in obtaining gainful and satisfying employment.
After submitting his nomination, he pledged, “For this reason, when I am on the council, I will champion for the implementation of more youth economic empowerment projects in Ashanti region.”
